The Food Ingredients China (FIC) is an annual major event for the food additives and ingredients industry which started in 1997. This year, the FIC 2024 is held from 20-22 March at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai. Over 1.500 exhibitors and more than 100,000 visitors from around the world participated in this event. The venue covered a total area of 160,000 sq meters, which was divided into 4 main categories: The Domestic Fragrance & Flavors, The Domestic Natural & Functional Products, The Machinery Devices, and The Overseas Pavilion. The event also held an international Forum and Seminar for the regulations, standards and innovations on food ingredients industry.
Among the many key figures present in FIC 2024 was the Chief Advisor of China’s National Center for Food Safety and the Director of China’s National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment. Two of the main topics which were discussed are the future of food additives & ingredients, and the standard system for food safety of food additives in China. Both topics addressed the role of all professionals in the food ingredients and food additives industry to keep striving for innovations and safety.
During the exhibition, visitors were able to interact with establishments showcasing various food ingredients and food additive products. This opens up the opportunity to find new insights and also to build networks with both China’s domestic food industries and the worldwide food industries.
